The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

The reason why comprehensive mental health examinations will never be required to purchase firearms in the U.S. is because there is too much room for abuse by politicians. Having an instantly accessible up-to-date database with the names of persons known to be either mentally unstable or a criminal is something that everyone should be able to get behind, however the “guilty until proven innocent” approach of mandatory psych evaluations would undoubtedly be declared unconstitutional.

There is a big difference between proving that you are not in a database of confirmed dangerous people, and having to prove to an un-elected government employee that you are not dangerous according to their boss’s criteria.

The Luger is a superior gun to the 1911 in terms of ergonomics. But, its sensitive toggle action cannot tolerate dirt, which is common thing on the battlefield. The 1911 .45acp is also a heavier round.

Walther PP and PPK are known for their elegance and ergonomics too. They’re easy to handle, rather concealable, and easy to take apart. However, the rounds they’re chambered with(mostly .32acp and .380acp) are often regarded as inadequate for the military.
Hitler shot himself with his .32acp Walther PPK. Gavrilo Princip used a .32 FN Browning M1910 to assassinate ArchDuke Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, which started WW1.

The “gun show loophole” is nothing of the sort. The instant background check system was created within the constraints of the time it was created. Back then, there was no wifi, and what passed for broadband internet could take hours to download a picture or song. The government couldn’t process that many background checks, so the system was locked, by law, such that only licensed firearms dealers could access it. They also changed the rules on who could be a licensed firearms dealer, making it impossible for someone selling a gun once in a while (or just once in a lifetime) to become a licensed dealer.

Therefore, since the law intentionally (and necessarily) did not give most people any possible way to do a background check in the first place, they were not required to do what they couldn’t (and still can’t) do. Licensed firearms dealers at gun shows still have to do a background check just as if they were in their own stores. But anyone who’s not normally required (or allowed) to do a background check doesn’t magically become allowed to do a background check just because they rented a booth at a gun show one time to sell off Grandpa’s three hunting rifles after he died.

Rarity’s too intelligent for that, and she’s proven she’s only dainty because she wants to be, not because she’s weak. A 1911 is a much better gun, and she certainly can handle it.

I’d imagine if rarity were ‘gunnified’ it would be crafted and adorned with such beauty and care that it would be useless as a practical firearm.

Like a flintlock made of crystal that would shatter from a single trigger pull.

It’s a touchy subject no matter how you put it. All I care about is that I and my fellow gun owners don’t have our rights infringed upon, and we can avoid any future mass shootings.

That’s what I meant. I’m a psychologist, I wasn’t using the laymens term for evaluation which is pretty much just a medical check up…

A full mental screening, which inculds a risk assessment and what you’d call a “stability assessment”.

Comprehensive mental health evaluations, full back-round checks, closing loop-holes, and better monitoring of “2nd market” trading all need to be better implemented.

Didn’t say IL was also good about such things, just that they have ’em. I only really know this, as my sister attempted suicide, and after being committed, it was revoked. Now, she has to get sworn statements in order for her FOID probation to end early (5years for just waiting it out, from what I understand)

Mental issues are not entirely true, i live in Il, and have clinical depression and anxiety. It’s a matter of mental stability. I’m completely stable, as i may be labeled as “severe” but it’s only so I can be medicated. I actually have a very light case. And i got my FOID in 2009 when I was 15.
