I misspoke. I meant to say that that’s my policy on fillies and colts, not adult ponies. The show sometimes makes adult ponies sound silly by giving them a “reverse” voice so to speak, but they generally don’t do it with fillies and colts.

I dont really feel like arguing anymore, so I’ll just say that the main factor for me is a character’s voice. If they have a male voice, they’re male; if they have a female voice, they’re female. And before you mention Pound Cake, they explicitly said he was male.

Yeah, but like I said before, you can’t just take character design that’s been established since day one and ignore it, just to add a feminine looking character.
Hell, Rumble straight up uses the filly model, down right to the eyes, and even he doesn’t have eyelashes, and all the mares that use the Big Mac model still have eyelashes.
As for your other points, I don’t think a bit character is really defined by what the script says, the instructions could’ve said “add foal here” and they just added whoever was closer in the “Friendship Student” folder, and the voice is obviously a mistake, since the VA isn’t even trying to sound like a young boy like the script says, it’s a directing error at the least.

I dont think it’s fair to just declare that the voice was “obviously” a mistake. You were just talking about the content of the show is what ultimately matters. You consider Lil Cheese a girl, despite being called a boy in the script, because all of her in-show traits combined make her seem like a girl. Well, I think that all of Lemon Crumble’s in-show traits make him seem like a boy. Sure, it’s possible that the voice was a mistake, especially since the eyelashes were present in the character’s design long before the voice. However, one could also point out that the last season really ramped up the inclusivity, so it’s entirely possible that they decided they wanted to give a feminine-looking character a male voice just for the hell of it.

Yeah, but that was obviously a miscast, even if she was a boy, the voice fits a 50 year old chain smoker than a 10 year old, there’s no way it was intentional.

In all seriousness, though, I think a secondary sexual characteristic like a masculine voice trumps a tertiary sexual characteristic like long eyelashes.

Which is why I refuse to believe Lil’ Cheese is a colt. I don’t care if the script used male pronouns, it also said “he” had a pink coat and yellow mane. Obviously things are different in the final product.
But yeah, the reason I say she’s a filly because there’s tertiary sexual characteristics ingrained into MLP’s character design from day one.
If a man who has admitted he only works on the show because it’s a paycheck, and he really doesn’t give a shit about it says she’s a colt, I take that stuff with a rock of salt, not a grain.

I’m just gonna let you know, and this is just my personal opinion, don’t take it too personally, take it with a grain of salt, you’re both 100% wrong because Lemon Crumble is a boy. You know, just my personal input, my 2 cents, just making a contribution.

It makes her feel better, and not be as exposed when undressed too. It adds a layer of padding to her developing breasts. It’s also cute, and also works great for censoring nudity.
