i was always under the impression different races aged different. ex, Pegasi maybe had the lowest lifeline vs unicorns have the highest of the standard 3.
 
all in all we never got a clear answer to their age.. which sucked because Pinkie i feel like would have blabbed it when it was hers. The mystery we may never get an answer too. :/

Well, they’re starting to go grey after the time skip, which implies they’re in their mid to late 40s or so. Which, in order for that to work with a fifteen year skip, they’d have to be in their early to mid 30s beforehand. Or the horse equivalent thereof.
 
But if we’re talking headcanons, I always figured they were around 16 at the beginning of the show; somewhere within a year of each other. Since the show implied a 3:1 Season:Year ratio, they were probably about 19-20 by the end of season 9.

i actually dont know how many years it was but it was a walking dead eske speed up… regardless IMO the mane 6 are probably in their mid 20’s with Shy or Rarity approaching 30 in a few years.
