She would probably have some snarky comments about it, but yes, Chrysalis would leave Thorax at the wheel, knowing it’s the best course of action.
 
As about what she would do as retired? I think being a student of friendship would eventually bore her. With her past as a commander of the changeling army, I would see her making a career at the pony military (if she is allowed of course).
 
Also, I think she would be quite good at adventuring stuff like searching for an ancient artifact, exploring expedition, fighting dangerous monsters etc.

I believe Chrysalis would resign of being queen of the changelings knowing Thorax will be a good sucessor.  
As for her, who knows, maybe become a student of friendship?

I think Chrysalis could be interesting. She would no longer be leader of the Changelings obviously but I’m sure the Changelings would allow her to still live with them.

Ocellus might be another one she’d listen to, as a possible future queen of a hive herself. Thorax I highly doubt, as he’s probably number 2 on Chrysalis’ hit list for taking Starlight to the hive in the first place.

I agree that Discord is a piece of sh** but Chrysalis is a female and well, every female villain that has been reformed so far became tamer and softer, so who knows.

I have always wanted to see a comic about that, when Pharynx tries to fight Chrysalis not a in very “friendship-is-magic-rainbowly” way unlike the show.

I agree about Thorax. I just wonder if another Changeling like Pharnyx would have had more luck getting through to Chrysalis. I say Pharnynx because he was one of her best warriors, and held out from changing the longest.

It’s a kind of lottery reforming a villain in MLP.  
You can be an insteresting character like Starlight or a fucking annoying one like Discord.
 
I don’t think Chrysalis is the kind that can be reformed somehow, I like Thorax in that case as a good-changeling leader.
