I prefer that would be the case though for Cosmos(as in erased).  
In fact its not exactly a good idea of bringing in stuff from the comics prior to the season 10 comics(unless you are “reintroducing” them) due to there will be so many new readers for the season 10 comics due to they want to see what happens next after Twilight became ruler(and the fact it says season 10), they would have alot to catch up on if the season 10 comics has to follow the comic continuality instead of just following only the show’s.  
Unlike the movie, the comics appear to be more tricky and such to find at times.

Heck, Discord went through with what Tempest went through in form of he only realized he screwed up when Tirek betrayed him. Like how Tempest only changed due to Storm King betrayed her.

Rest of the S10 arc is basically panel after panel of “No offense” “None taken” gags from EQG :)

So what is worse, helping one evil megalomaniac almost take over the world and only changing your mind about it because he didn’t give you what you want, or helping three evil megalomaniacs almost take over the world but your heart was in the right place and your plan was simply too stupid and dangerous to work?

This entire chat arguing over the Cosmos reference/S9 in general and I’m just here having my whole day stop being awful because Spitfire finally gets a prominent role. S10’s looking promising already.

Problem is there’s some confusion on whether Silver Shoals is a retirement home or not.  
And now I am just unsure but I am just assuming the worst due to how the writers handled the Royal Sisters there.

Hmm, an outright stated to be the case ship, with LyraBon. I mean, we already knew for certain, beyond any reasonable doubt, but…

Compared to the other times, what happened here is really the worst to the sisters.  
Up there with the Storm King fiasco and what happened in the series finale.

The alicorns being humillated by a villain is a common thing at this point in the series, Cosmos really didn’t damage so much reputation because every villain do that in every season opening or ending.

Anyway… did Capper or Tempest said something about Princess Eris to Discord?

Though now something needs to be addressed about the altered memory thing  
And the whole.. humiliation by being possessed and absorbed by Cosmos bit that happened to the sisters.  
Luna taking it worse due to it spat on her character in a way with how she got taken over before(by the Nightmare Forces in the comic continuality, even if that is retconned it still counts in the form of the Nightmare Moon split personality taking over). Its just.. seems to humiliating.

Or the easiest way to retcon Cosmos arc… Discord just lied about the behaivor of both to make him look like an angel. Making them a toxic couple where both are horrible but only Discord is “less” worse.

If they are going to use Cosmos, they need to “retcon” that damn arc.  
Like introduce her in a different way.  
I mean.. that dumb memory wipe Discord did and made the sisters’ achievement turn out to be a huge lie only just screwed Luna and Celestia further.  
How hard is it to say Discord dumped her and sealed her away BEFORE he entered Equestria to cause trouble?

It’s Discord. Take anything involving him with a lick of salt. Which is to say anywhere from two to fifty pounds of it.

Wait, so Cosmos is freaking canon here?  
So that “retcon” that messed up the sisters’ achievement of stopping Discord is canon truly now?  
That’s what I was dreading about the season 10 comics but my fears came true..

I hope that Discord’s iffy plan is not just going to be a pass-by mention like that but also some consequences happening in the long-term. Like how it affected Luna and Celestia(or the Crystal Empire).
 
Speaking of the Royal Sisters, I still hope there’s something for them and hopefully its not “Lets see how they are doing at the dumb retirement home full of old wrinkled ponies that majestic princesses don’t freaking belong in, that’s it”

A lot of downplayed continuity alluded to here. I love it.
