this is different, fim existed to be a better show than their previous ones and to save their pony industry, we didn’t think it’ll work cuz previous ponies.
Now they want to make a show taking “the best” of the best show and trying to make it better (think about star wars prequels)…that is not posible
You know, your right, If someone in the past told me in the future MLP would be my favorite cartoon of the modern day, I would have laughed and insulted them. I’ll keep an open mind, maybe even have another great show to watch =3
But remember, given the concept (a new Alicorn character forced upon the staff, effectively “ruining” the whole sun/moon duality), it could’ve gone much, MUCH worse.
@TorqueEffect
Indeed. Plus something about them all being one species ((as opposed to three)) seems to take something from it as well. How the heck are these even going to be the same characters anymore?
Two of them can no longer fly and two of them may or may not be able to do magic.
Yeah, and maybe we can relive that sense of embracing the irony of a show that had absolutely no right being good, being even phenomenal at times.
This spinoff will get my fair shot all the same. Even if it was explicitly shoehorned by Hasbro into existence, it’s not like DHX hasn’t worked miracles with similar things in the past (Cadance for one, Rating-pending on Alicorn Twilight)
I hope they use these colorings if it’s real, the character fit certain social and teenage stereotypes that are usually associated with white girls, if they tried it with any other skin tones. People would still call it offensive, plus it would be strange a blue or purple girl walking around. My real reason for seeing them as caucasians comes from their eye colors, five of them have eye colors that are most common among those of European descent. though people of African or Asian descent can have blue eyes it’s extremely rare.
