Exactly. Twilight Sparkle is all that matters now, even if the lessons discovered by RD and the others were required more strength of heart and less obvious to the non-retarded.
 
This was not the last episode of S3. Unless this is ‘set up for a big fall’ this is the first episode of the Twilight Sparkle show, and corporate decision pushed urgently and without the careful decisions of the writers.

In Mulan, her friends would have failed if it were not for her actions. In Friendship is Magic, Twilight would have failed if it were not for her friends.
 
I think people would have liked credit to go where it was due.

Why is this bothering so many people? This is such a typical thing in fiction that it doesn’t bother me at all. Hell Mulan had people bow to her and she didn’t even become princess or Empress of China to get it to happen.

There was a vital component needed. Something to show that Twilight’s friends were still her peers. (And they should have been, as they pulled just as much of the weight, and learned just as much about friendship.)

Yeah, the bowing pretty much ruined the whole “You’re still our friend!” thing.

woulda have liked the episode a lot better had it gone like this.

That would have actually discharged a lot of the shit around this.
