I think you mean ‘Why’ right?
Basically Luna doesn’t object or supply more help to shore up the plans objectives with reinforcements, so unless Celestia’s lying to her or not telling her about the rather shortsighted plans till after the fact I’m putting the same level of disregard Celestia’s got on luna as well.
Trust and Faith in a person do not justify turning a blind eye to what the person does, family or not.
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT LUNA?????????
Same with Celestia and Luna, yet they always have perfect plans that couldn’t possibly ever fail ascribed to them.
I mean we know from canon that Chrysalis is an idiot without a single tactical bone in her body.
she said “wither away to nothing” that means getting all skinny and skeletal and shit. what discord was doing was “fading away.”
what’s bullshit here is chrysalis outright just explaining how they disguise themselves. I know she’s dumb as rocks, but the whole point of a disguise is you don’t explain it!
nevertheless this is how chrysalis sees herself. more like a subconscious dream, rather than her putting up a deliberate act.
…maybe
He’s got a “I found a sucker” look in his eyes.
Which would make his behaviour somewhat sensible. The changelings need love, so why not give it to them to keep them from taking it by force? If he believes it’s essentially a free resource? Mind, there’s still a high chance he has sinister intentions, I won’t deny that.
This pony starts asking reasonable questions that follow normal logic & curiosity… but then he ends up sugesting something that would TAKE something from him (and his companions) without getting something back in return.
-> THIS MAKES NO SENSE.
He is either blissfully ignorant of the posible consequences (perhaps believing “love” as endless source of energy that would self_regenerate inside a pony as fast as whatever rate it can be extracted), or he is doing this on porpouse to “hook” this strangers to a newfound drug that he can make “for free” [making himself invaluable & untouchable as a ““friend””]; expecting to CASH out later onto that inmunity/favor.
-> Or maybe he is just lying, guiding this strange creatures into a trap using their “food” as a lure.
(In the Season 6 finale) She forced it out from Thorax on porpouse, expecting him to perish (she was not taking his peculiar position as “an oportunity for wild experimentation”, but enacting punishment on a traitor by a “tried & true” method); this is why him surviving the process was unexpected.
-> There would be no logical reason for a changeling to believe that “choosing” to do it themselves (rather than being forced) would make any diference in the outcome [this makes sense, as otherwise never happening it to any other changeling before in history would be a plot hole]; they simply never tried because it would be pointless pain & effort.
If Chrysalis current memories about what “she knew back then about it” (new backstory) is so deranged & incompatible with her own ACTUAL story (real events), then it means she is actually crazy [not the same person anymore].

What a twist that would be!
I’ll admit, this does seem to be going in what appears to be a slightly different direction that first anticipated, but I’m not gonna hold my breath. Logic dictates to me that this is going to end in the trio here abusing Chrysalis’ trust for either their own advantage or trying to kill her.
I mean, from the dialogue here, any kind of misunderstanding on the ponies’ part here is near impossible, so any betrayal of trust would come from sheer malice.
Now, this is not to say that this isn’t a good way of explaining why Chrysasalis finds it to trust a hand offered in friendship. People do have bad experiences that colour their perception. What I’m worried about is if what happens here gets taken and used as an excuse for everything terrible Chrysalis and her hive do in the future. I sincerely hope not, but we’ll have to see.
@tu160
Now that is true, and would be very interesting but… again, I’m not holding my breath if that happens.

It’s quite possible that Chrysalis betrayed the ponies trust in some manner, but over time her memory of the event changed so now she actually does believe that pony actions are to blame for the event.
I would actually prefer that over whitewashing Chrysalis by having the evil ponies betray the kind and trustworthy Changeling Queen.
I like how one of them afraid and try to hide behind Chrysalis.
