Boy, I am a sucker for a really well-done atmosphere and this piece just has it. Beautiful lighting, weather, and details like how Sweetie Belle’s hair is being messed up by the rain.
Not much of a Spikebelle shipper, but this is the type of art that would change that.
@Jryvn
I like to go about it a bit differently. Instead of shipping two characters that are most similar, I try to ship two that I think would be compatible. In some ways, this does mean similarities: similar age, similar values/morals, a shared interest in something, etc. But in some ways, this means having differences: one is more social than the other, one is more dom/other is more sub, one is more lawful/other is more chaotic, etc. This allows enough similarities to be able to relate to one another whilst having enough differences to keep things ~spicy~. This is why I love Spikebelle and hate Fluttermac.
@Jryvn
For the most part that’s true. But sometimes you’ll see a ship between completely unshippable characters and their will go down with their ship no matter what.
@Daneasaur
I’m glad I was able to resolve that at least.
My theory is that most fan pairings revolve around two things: one, a character the fan personally likes; and two, a character they feel is most similar to them and thus can live through.
@Jryvn
That’s all I wanted, a Spikebelle shipper who admits that.
Most have some overly complex claim that Spike mingled with the CMC frequently, when that was never the case. Just glad to see one who just freely admits they just like to pair them.
