@catrap0
Its a parody of this one series finale where it turns out all the events in the show were inside of a autistic boys mind …which is a snowflake in a glacier that is that nearly all television series are essentially in the same universe because that show had cross overs, which then had cross overs with other shows, and so on, and so on. Theres a book somewhere
A lot of long running shows had really downer endings like this because, lets face it, the creators wanted the show to fucking die so they could get on with projects other than the execs little moneymaking whore they were forced to continue working on.
Soundtea, several long popular series had odd crap endings. (The final episode of Dallas was this weird “It’s a Wonderful Life” thing.) I don’t know why writers do that.
I think most of those theories are just for fun. Those kind of endings are very hard to work out. Though I think if there were subtle clues that it was all false, it could work. Still it would be very hard to make work for the exact reason you stated, it likely would feel cheap.
Hence why it’s really best those theories stay in fanfics or fanart unless it can be done well.

I always was unable to comprehend people who make those theories that “X show/movie is all in Main Character’s head!”, when it’s basically a “It was all a dream” ending, but with cheap drama injected.
It doesn’t make the product look deeper, or better, it just makes me feel that I wasted my time.
Sometimes. Yeah. Depends how they do it. If it was the real ending for the show, no I wouldn’t like it. But if it’s just part of a picture or fan fic I can dig it.
I’m talking about no bad guys, nor good guys, it’s just a guy, dying for some random reason.
The evil guy wasn’t evil, the good guy wasn’t good, he was just a soon-to-be-corpse, and everything we saw was a lie.
Tell me, do you like endings where it’s revealed that it was all a dream?
I sometimes just like to see good characters suffer. Especially if they don’t deserve it. Sometimes I just like seeing the bad guy win and spit in their face.
@Princess Molestia
Of course you would, Everything is fine in your imaginary world, what you do not know, is that it is all a illusion as you die of brain cancer while laying up in a bed, with people like us standing around you.
…You see what I’m talking about?
