I think what weirds me out the most about this is the skin color being the same as the ponies and their equine ears. I mean, if you’re gonna humanize em why not go all the way instead of going the cat-girl way? also face tattoos? not sure if gusta…

They may look slightly better, but still:
 
-why do they all have to wear skirts? I’m a girl and skirts can be nice, but usually I wear jeans. At least I expected RD and AJ to wear pants  
-Where are Rarity’s and Twilight’s horns at?! Either have wings and horns or non at all, but only having wings doesn’t make any sense. Or will they use magic wands instead of horns? Nevertheless it’s an odd choice.  
-I’m not sure what think about the ponytails. I get the pun here and I really like this look on Applejack and Fluttershy. However the other ponies…  
-Right the skin colors. I guess I just need to get used to that.  
-Wait a minute…HOLY SHEEET, they got their cutiemarks tattooed on their faces?! WHAT?! Weren’t the cutiemarks on their clothes enough? :o
 
Anyway, hopefully they won’t be too girly girls with stereotype make-up, shopping, dating boys and other high-school issues.

Imagine if they still had their cutiemarks on their hips and they got them through puberty, and then awkward happenings in the locker room because that’s the only time you can see them.

The cutie marks on face deal is going to be hell when they can’t manage that level of detail on the toys this show is supposed to sell.
 
Also, Rainbow Dash’s face mark makes her resemble David Bowie. This show sure has a lot of David Bowie references…

The “teaser” was fake, or an extremely old pitch image. My own guess is someone made that thing based on a fleeting glance of the real stuff, an incomplete description, or a whole lot of luck.

I guess they chose skirts so they can show off their boots more, which you’ll notice have the same shape as pony legs.

You know, I was looking at these, and I noticed that there seemed to be a bit of an extension of their hair starting at where their tails would normally be.
 
Then it struck me.

I just noticed, in the teaser they had human ears, now they have horse ones.

why they all wear skirts?
