Both guards are pegasi (you can just barely see the right wing of the blue one), so given the distrust between the tribes mentioned in the synopsis, it seems unlikely there’d be any relation between them.

For what it’s worth, even Twilight acknowledged (as she was about to defeat 3 big baddies who wrecked havoc in Equestria mouting ponies race against each other no less) that “there will always be more to do” and on the importance of other ponies taking their mantles when they are “gone [to continue their missions]. And from the same episode, AJ lectured Twilight on the inevitability of “bad things [always] happening” but you didnt have to “quit trying” when push come to shove

It’s the unfortunate part that wacky real estate mogul/TV star becoming the president of a powerful nation and slowly going bananas, people are realizing how fragile peace is and media is beginning to reflect that sense of malaise. However, the other guy have a point that MLP shouldnt pull a Star Trek Discovery and stay optimistic in its approach IMO. Sure,they are things to improve but i dunno i hope they wont make it seems as everything is hopeless

There’s a huge difference between having new adventures and conflicts in an ongoing setting, to completely changing the fabric of Equestria’s culture so you can make yet another “racism is bad” lesson. Like, wow, really original stuff there. The ponies of Equestria really needed this lesson, even though tribalism between ponies hasn’t been a thing in-universe for literally thousands of years and multi-tribal families seem very common (such as the Cake family having both pegasus and unicorn blood in their recent line). This is Star Trek Picard all over again, where the progressive Federation gets turned into a xenophobic dystopia in just a couple decades in-universe just so they can tell the audience a story about how refugees deserve to be treated better.  
But go ahead, I know I won’t be convincing you of anything.

Yeah, and the three tribes era of Equestria is depicted in that episode as ancient history, a dark time that everyone is quite happy to have moved far beyond. If the showrunners wanted to make a prequel series set in the three tribes era, that might be interesting. But G5 is set in the future.

Politics in media is nothing new. The only thing that has changed is you You didn’t notice it before but you do now Only to new things

I adore the pony models so much, especially the li’l hooves and fluffy unshorn fetlocks; the animation (the little that I’ve seen) doesn’t look half bad either

The fact it’s apparently take place in the same universe as the G4 but many years later, make me happy.

Well, despite kinda “meh” graphics, those Pegasi guards look pretty badasss.
