With the only “concept manipulation” makes him so OP because that means nothing in the reality can hurt him but what makes Accord more powerful than Discord is he had a purpose, with that he can focus his powers in something meanwhile Discord only uses it for fun because he’s like a regular creature with the poders of a god (or like someone who put all the cheatcodes in GTA San Andreas) just bored (or with self desctructive tendencies) at the point he plays the games from this reality.

Given how powerful Discord is in the comics, I could see him in the Spirit Level tier.

As a Discord fan i wholeheartedly would say that starlight was in the right in matter of principals, i do agree that she is a mary sue however that aside. I much would have preferred if discord like spike suggested was “trying to test her which he does to those he cares about” straight from spike’s mouth, it would have shown he was trying to help in his own chaotic way instead of being selfish and not talking about how he feels.

In a previous episode were discord was jealous it took an entire night of him trying to get fluttershy’s attention before he blew up and even then the only target he truly attacked was the source of his anger not a innocent bystander and once he is told u can have different friends for different things. He immediately realizes he overreacted and is immediately ashamed showing him as someone who genuinely doesn’t know better and is learning friendship.

Matter of principals discord would have already learned this lesson and like wayne states starlight liked his antics in celestia advice and discord says “i was hoping you would send her to my realm we could have been roomies” showing that he was trolling twilight all day because he wanted to spend time with a new friend. Matter of principals doesn’t make sense, the same way other episodes characters go against there character development in some episodes, that being said though… @Wayneponeth for the last time discord wasn’t intentionally trying to kill kids, his actions were potentially dangerous but no he wasn’t trying to kill them ok. Luckily the writers seem to have learned from this as in a future episode discord asks to be involved by asking for a notecard to help with the summersun celebration, so either he learned from that episode or like i said matter of principals is non-canon :p back on topic Starlight is stronger than twilight because twilight had to use talk-no justu to stop her but discord is a million times stronger than star.

Well, at least Starlight learned her lesson and tried her best. She was actually another pony that liked Discord’s antics even like how she stifled a laugh in Celestial Advice. Discord just likes to ruin his relationship with everyone. I’m still pissed that Starlight was the one apologizing even though Discord tried to kill children.
Also, about never hurting Fluttershy, Discord kind of betrayed her twice and broke her heart. But he did that to literally everyone so I guess he would never only hurt Fluttershy.

I’m here to defend Starlight and talk shit about Discord, and I’m all out of shit. :P

Seriously though about power levels, I actually won’t deny Starlight is no match for Discord. Even Starlight herself would admit she can’t beat Discord whatsoever. It’s not implausible for Discord to stay a ghost to mess with her like he always does. I wouldn’t put her above the Mane Six either. All of them have skills that she wouldn’t even dream of obtaining. Still, that giant blast was pretty cool. I respect her for not tolerating Discord’s bull. The idea that she went all out because she knew Discord could survive it anyway is also pretty cool :P

I’m not really a big fan of either character to be honest, (Discord’s a hypocritical asshole, and Starlight’s a Mary-Sue), so whomever was “right” in that episode was beyond my caring. However,

It’s likely she knew he’d be capable of surviving that blast, so she didn’t hold back. And I’d also wager Discord could’ve just undo anything she had done to him if needed. In fact, in terms of power, I’d still say Discord could actually kick her ass on any given day if he wanted to.

Starlight fell to King Sombra’s magic, Where Discord was literally flicking it away. Starlight herself said Discord could’ve just sneezed the changelings away during “To Where and Back Again” where even WITH her own magic, things seemed pretty hopeless for her.

Well, Starlight never intended to hurt him really. She only banish his material form from school grounds, and Discord actually could only appear in the school as a ghost until Starlight turned him back. Besides, if my substitute headmare was a able to kick out someone who was literally trying to kill me with a monster he summoned, she is definitely headmare material to me. She was trying to keep me safe after all. And of course she had to use magic. I mean how else was she supposed to stop that bugbear, talk to it? And Discord literally insulted her after trying to kill kids. A magic blast was more than warranted and excused.

(Don’t mind me, I’m on my anti-Discord train again.)

i don’t think thorax is alicorn level but we know thorax can change into different species and hes definitely stronger than some random instagram thot with a camera and once they break it she is powerless.

Starlight would be ahead of the Mane 6 together. Simple fact that Starlight one shotted a bugbear while it took awhile for the Mane 6 to be one.
