But again, the letter itself is not what’s legally binding here.
In Princess Twilight, Twilight was simply the highest level authority available. There are laws and systems in place that decree her in charge in the event of any higher authority being removed or indisposed of at the time, which Celestia and Luna were when they were missing. Again, like in real life wher eif something happens to the President, the Vice President is in charge.
Twilight didn’t remain in charge once Celestia and Luna returned.
The letter at the beginning of this story only served to inform them of what was going to legally happen as she was presumed dead or missing. The position of power would go to them as they are the next best candidates for leadership. The letter has nothing to do with that. It holds absolutely no legal power on its own and Celestia and Luna can’t take Twilight’s position now that she’s back, even if they for some reason tried to use a mail letter to justify it.
It just doesn’t work that way. There’s no actual problem here really.

On one hand, he’s sort of right, because the context itself from the letter seems to have Twilight dictating exactly that.
In fact, this is exactly what happened during “Princess Twilight”
But other the other hoof, you’re also correct in how there seems to be more to a transfer of official official power when not in a state of crisis. Given that there is no crisis, Twilight is fine, and that the Princesses never technically accepted the throne back to them, the situation’s to be in favor of Twilight having the final say.
The fact, Twilight being the Princess of Friendship regardless may overrule Celestia’s authority given that this is a friendship problem.

No. She didn’t. She let them know that they’d get the defacto role because she assumed she wasn’t going to be able to come back. Much like the Vice President becomes the president if the President kicks the bucket.
The problem with that is, again, Twilight’s not dead. So they’re not rulers.
More importantly, Writing something in a letter is AGAIN, in no way shape or form legally binding even IF Twilight for some reason specifically outlined “You are are 100% in charge now no matter what and there’s nothing I can do about it.” through that post message. It doesn’t work that way no matter how much your own bias wants it too. The president or King or literally anyone who is in charge of anything can’t just send a post-card that says “you’re in charge now.” to transfer power or possesions.
Here, allow me to demonstrate.
I, SunlightDrifter, do herby bestow upon Penguin Dragoneel all my earthly possessions from now until the end of time. I also give to them my firstborn child and a Hershey’s chocolate bar.
Okay… do you have all that stuff now? No? Well, now maybe you understand why sending a letter isn’t sufficient to trade a kingdom.

Oh for Twilight’s sake.
She said they’d now have jurisdiction in the probable event of her death/permanent disappearance where they were the only two who knew what exactly what had happened to her because of that letter she sent.
As you can see, Twilight’s not dead, a letter does not constitute any sort of legally binding transfer of power, and no one aside from Celestia and Luna would be aware that any of this was a possibility in the first place.
From a legal standpoint, from the standpoint of what Twilight actually said, and just from the standpoint of common sense, Twily is still VERY MUCH the rightful ruler of Equestria and the one in charge here.
ANY questions? Please stop repeating this. It’s just you not having a very good idea of how legislation works.
