Khaki had been burning the candle at both ends as he so often does being a workoholic and sadly this let to him neglecting self care and contracting a cold. Tommy hadn’t seen his favourite uncle for quite a few days now, and he was getting incredibly worried so he went to visit khaki-cap, not wanting to disturb him, he knocked on the door ever so gently, and heard a weak ‘come in’ in response. Tommy saw his uncle just lying there on his bed, muzzle a deep crimson and bags under his eyes. Tommy galloped over to him and leaped on his bed with such wide eyed concern on his face. Khaki was so hot to the touch, much hotter than normal as Tommy could tell after spending many an evening snuggled up to him while Galaxia and Speedy were away. Khaki tried to convince this little colt not to worry, that it was just a common cold and he would be better in a few days, but this didn’t stop the tears from welling up inside Tommy’s deep brown eyes, he didn’t want his uncle to be sick, ever! Tommy propped himself closer to Khaki offering him a handkerchief and promising to stay with him until he was feeling better, of course khaki-cap didn’t want Tommy around him too much for fear of him catching it, but Tommy relayed to Khaki the time when they were stuck in the snowstorm and how khaki-cap looked after him and kept him warm and wasn’t the least bit concerned about getting sick himself. Not being able to argue with that, Khaki whimpered a weak ‘fine’ and Tommy hugged him tightly. The two will probably stay there all day drifting in and out of sleep.
