It’s still a pattern that follows the same results, whenever they come with a reboot of a known series on that same style, yes, it’s more likely going to be an absolute trash. Different story with most original cartoons that were meant to be created with that style from the beginning, those often compensate a great script, and sometimes they even display some really good creativity with animation with a good script as well.

While this style is common, the quality of the content is vastly different.
Having a different style isn’t even proof the cartoon will be good.
Just look at He-Man Revelation. It had a style that’s extremely unique when it comes to western cartoons. The show was crap though.
Then there’s the far more conventional looking CGI series. It’s cartoonier, more stylized, less focused on realism, but it’s actually really good.
It all comes down to the creativity behind something, it doesn’t all hinge on design.
