Lol no u wouldn’t be a good person because for one u are a human and aren’t powerful enough to believe u can keep me safe from everything. What discord did in his mind is the equal to a sink or swim swimmer who makes u be able to breathe underwater. The only reason what discord did is an anyway excusable and/or make sense is because he is the spirit of chaos so yes he is special because the story has us understand this fact about him, unless u just wanna ignore the story. Even then he was called out for it and discord is a antihero,antiheros walk the line between good and bad.

To go back from my earlier comments on this site, im not trying to say discord is perfect no far from it. Discord even at the end is still self-centered, obnoxious, manipulative, childish, and selfish. As he’s not really intended to be a standard good guy. But he can also be caring in his own way, thoughtful, creative, a want to be better, own up to his mistakes, be selfless and even heroic.

Thinking discord got off easy doesn’t make him a worser person than them.
discord saw himself as a safety net and knew the mane 6 would win so he basically saw that eq would be fine in the end. The trio meant to conquer and harm eq for real.
Discord obviously came from a place of naiviety, the trio fully understood that what they were doing is terrible.
Discord had selfless reasons for doing what he did. the trio didn’t.
Discord had remorse and took action to try to make up for it. The trio didn’t.
Discord also defies logic through his very nature of the same exact standards that should be given to a normal person.
The only moral standing that discord is a worser person than the trio is through bias lens of black and
white morality that is often from the justice system of cops and judges. This is a fictional series
and discord is a antihero who is meant to be questionable. You shouldn’t judge things the exact same
way u would irl in this cartoon, if u don’t get that then were done here and have nothing else to discuss.

He is supposedly reformed and has done more harm then any of these three-successfully I might add-and gotten a reward for it.

Either he is held to the same standard and after repeatedly proving his “redemption” is lip-service and nothing else as he endangers the entire world for an ego boost, or he is actively worse.

Because he is a liar. Because he is selfish. Because he is cruel. Because he is protected from the consequences of his actions.

These three make no allusions and don’t pretend to be good.

Discord does. He is, from every moral standpoint, worse.

Because he isn’t just a monster, he’s a monster that suffers nothing for what he does unlike everyone else

What reformed character other than Discord had hurt Fluttershy though? Starlight Glimmer had some of the most wholesome interactions with her. Sunset Shimmer also had the most wholesome interactions with the human version. Trixie, Tempest, and Stygian never had direct interactions with her. Even Flim and Flam who is arguably never reformed did way less hurtful things toward her than Discord. What other reformed characters had ever hurt Fluttershy?

Harmony itself didn’t stone them-that was a decision made by three people who’ve routinely put other people at risk and been praised for it.

It’s hypocritical to call that Evil onto Evil when they were defenseless, at their mercy, had been manipulated by Discord and had absolutely zero reason to be nice that doesn’t boil down to fear and despair.

There is no world where the characters we are shown would do that.

More so on what earth is Discords opinion of the matter worth more then a piece of roadkill considering his spoiled, protected tail is the one who made them a threat for a selfish personal favor with which he knowingly put entire countries at risk for.

As per all other comments, Intent=/=Innocence, and Discord is far and above worse then all three of them.

Because in the end, he succeeded and was rewarded for horrible actions because he’s friends with the most powerful people who clearly do not care when people get hurt from their mistakes.

On basic principle discord didn’t decide to punish them until they stated they would never change and after it was already stated they were gonna get punished and he got the ok to do so. If celestia and luna or fluttershy or twilight would have pardon the trio he would have respected their wishes. He was helping them pay evil unto evil.

Considering other characters have reformed who have hurt fluttershy, and discord never pulled up to tartarus for the sake of getting back at tirek or the fact he let chrysalis run off in the S6 finale. I highly doubt he would care about the trio being reformed.

Turned 3 supervillains into stone after they stated they will always return and after celestia and Luna stated they already were gonna punish them and they gave discord the ok to do so.
Discord has never shown any problems with a character being reformed, if they said no u cant do that or decided to give them another chance discord would have just went about his day and had a tea party with fluttershy later.

I think this is a good first move on Twilight’s end. Discord was the reason why these three were stoned in the first place.

Honestly that just made me change my mind. Yes, the villains should pay Discord a visit, and give him the proper revenge as a consequence! He can’t keep getting away with things and the very people who should give him a proper retribution are the people he manipulated, put in so much danger, and not to mention turned into stones in the first place.

Seriously though this is still pretty smart on Twilight’s part because she knows Discord has no place to change and that he will definitely ruin everything she is trying to accomplish, and seeing how powerful he is she just decided he shouldn’t be present anyway. It’s the same reason they let him do whatever he wants and even apologizes to him when he does anything wrong, so that we can keep him calm and not destroy the whole world as we know it. If Discord gets anyway close to these guys, he’ll probably do something so bad it reawakens the villains’ revenge tendencies and rage, rendering anything Twilight is trying to do pointless. It would be even worse if Discord tries to do something behind her back and makes things worse like he always did. And maybe Twilight could have tried to convince him not to do anything stupid like Celestia and Luna, but she isn’t even attempting to do so, meaning she doesn’t believe Discord would even listen to her in one bit. It seems to Twilight, Discord may be the real lost cause, so keeping him away is the best course of action. Let’s hope he won’t ever know about Twilight’s plan and do anything stupid again.

The “Problem” is that Twilight is requiring of them for a very specific, likely permanent, abstinence of JUSTICE.
-> She is actually asking for “not any petty revenge”, as she implicitly admits that proper “satisfaction” is un-achievable.
Discord is to be treated as a “localized, focused force of nature” (example: even if it were to alive & sapient, you can not demand a “storm cloud” for reparations after it lighting_strikes & burns your home into ashes).

Twilight can not explicitly say that “he has being pardoned” [as for him to never actually having to suffer of any “consequence” from his misdeeds, he & his victims must now remain forever “insulated” of each others].

The FAILURE here is how this trio can ever be properly “fixed” in a universe that is still fundamentally BROKEN.

This story was rather interesting up to when Celestia & Luna proposed an (indirect, unguided, random) “execution via nature” (by transporting the trio to where local animals/monsters could likely overwhelm their inherent current capacities for defense/survival); since it implied that they DESIRED their prompt extermination [Cozy already proved in canon that she (a pony) is capable of premeditated killing], but were restrained by either some personal moral code (or societal expectations) from ever doing it through their actions (in person or delegated to another sapient being).
-> Zecora already developed a potion that could allow an alicorn “to see the past” (surviving to the process); it may only be a matter of time before an improved version could be used by anypony/creature [so ever_living beings like the Royal Sisters could be judged for their actions by “lesser” beings].
Sadly, they whent 180º on their plan after Twilight showed less than 1% of her full potential [not even in her final form], likely getting scared of accidentally awakening a “Midnight Sparkle”.

Now it is not clear where the story could actually “go”, since there is no “villain” [pataphysically speaking] to defeat.

We all know Discord is like that one guy that we should prevent him from attending a sessions….every session at all cost.
