Doxy had a smaller pool of artists to work with. Also, while he is trying to make a profit from it, he also took a gamble: he handled most of the publishing and distributon. Thus, he incurred a lot of costs, and the rveenue he gets goes towards covering those costs first. I hope he gets a decent profit.
 
In contrast, we had lulu, which covered most of the publishing and distribution but of course, Lulu gets most of the profits (a fairly high percentage). Also, where Doxy had only a few artists (5 or more), who contributed one picture each (whereas he did msot of the pictures), we have a roster of about 20+ artists on both artbooks. If we went the profit route, we have to devod the profits amongst all the artists, which would be a hassle. So, we settled for charity, since it would be easier.

I don’t have a problem with the chartiy, but why haven’t you done something like what Doxy did with his calendar?

@Mido Yeah he was in a way. But the real leader of Artbook 1 and 2 is still Megasweet. JJ was more someone who joined in at the start, back when it was originally supposed to be a calendar.

Yeah, i know that a lot of artists from book 1 have their reason.  
The only absence that surprised me is JJ because..well it’s JJ and he is one of the artists that started book 1

He was generally busy with other commitments. It was a similar story with other artists from artbook 1. That being said, Artbook 2 allowed us the opportunity to work with new artists, so there’s a lot of ‘fresh’ content this time round.

I’ll answer some comments for the artbook here, since I worked as admin for both Artbook 1 and 2:
 
@Itsthinking: That was the plan we had. Even though its techncially MLP humanzied, we tried to remove content thats too much like MLP to lessen a copyright problem.
 
@kruppenstein: Again, copyright. Also, Artbook 1 was also a humanzied artbook. It was meant to represent the different attitudes and approaches to humanziation within the fandom.
