5 mol is roughly equivalent to 160 grams, which is less than .5 pounds
Actually a mol is a unit of quantity, not mass. It is ~6x1023 of whatever item is being counted. So the mass of 1 mol (or 5 mol in this case) of something depends on the mass of a single item.
For example, the mass of
1 mole of electrons is 0.55mg
1 mole of neutrons is ~1g (same for protons)
1 mole of carbon atoms is 12g (by definition)
1 mole of moles would be about 4.5x1022kg
