Again with the putting-words-in-mouth thing. I never said they were original by any stretch of the imagination, I just said they were different than the predecessors of their respective IPs. For instance; in 2007 when CoD 4 came out it was not an original idea, having had military shooters released before it. It was, however, a fresh change from the then-popular rehashes of WW2 shooters.

While I may agree with the Pokemon part, Mario does every once in a while pump out something fresh, Each Zelda game still feels somewhat fresh (And if you say otherwise, you’re godamn fucking lying, OoT, MJ, and TP are similar games, but each has something unique, and they’re the only games that can fall in the danger zone), Metroid tries to give something new in each title, and there are several other Nintendo franchises that could be resurrected at any time.
I really don’t get all this Nintendo hate, just because their most recognizable franchises don’t have a lot of innovation doesn’t mean they’re completely stagnant as a company. Fuck, they’re the least evil AAA developer these days, and they at least try to thread over new territory with their consoles, rather than stick to more poligons and shinnier textures.
I never said I don’t like kiddy things or think they’re stupid, worthless, or shit. I just said the only people who give a damn about Nintendo are kids AND people who grew up with them and still long for the time when they were relevant. Don’t put words in my mouth(or fingertips).

Seriously, dude, look in a dictionary! Hell, I’ll do it for you.
Rehash (ree-hash) verb to put into a new form with no great change or improvement. noun The act of rehashing.
I didn’t play Bioshock Infinite or ANY of the Bioshock games, so I can’t comment on those. All I know is that BS 1 was apparently a masterpiece and BS 2 was a masterful piece of shit, according to many individuals I have talked to about the series.
Well, let’s take a look at the gaming world compared to today vs. about 10 years ago. Call of Duty 4 was a fresh, new idea, and not a rehash of CoD 3. Resident Evil 4 was a fresh, new idea, and not entirely a rehash of RE3(despite still retaining the outdated control scheme). Succeeding CoD games are rehashes of the original idea. RE5 was a rehash of 4 with a updated control schemes and an AI partner that stuck with you the whole game. Pokemon has stuck with the same bullshit formula since its very inception; pseudo-overhead few, encounter random creatures in bushes and forests, turn based combat, and typical assortment of “rivals” and a professor character to aid you in your journeys.
Sequels don’t necessarily have to be rehashes, and not all sequels are rehashes, as proven by the CoD 4 and RE4 examples I provided. Fallout 3 was also another game that was completely different from its predecessor. This, of course, does not mean that each sequel has to be something new, fresh, exciting, and different from its predecessor, but merely that once you get three, four, five or more games in a series without changing the formula then you’re dangerously approaching rehash territory, and HOW many installments do Pokemon and Mario(among the others I mentioned) have to their names? Exactly.
