Op in that tweet didn’t say they weren’t diverse exactly. They literally said that “MLP g5 is so ugly”.

This is why i feel like we should differentiating between MLP Fans, specifically G4 fans and G5 fans, since we can’t come to a clear understanding or agree to disagree with each other since their is animosity between the two.

This meme fits “Your an MLP fan because of G5, i’m a mlp fan because of G4, we are not the same.”

This is just me but i’ve noticed that MLP G5 attract a certain types of people.
And as a G4 purest enjoyer, i find G5 to be ok for what it is, and mid.

a person was saying G5’S designs weren’t diverse. I proved them otherwise. in the same thread, i acknowledged that I love G4 and that they got better diversity later on during the show. I just wanted to defend G5 because it constantly gets dogpiled on. g5 fans ARE being harrassed. I got told to KMS and you are straight up ignoring that fact.

So you do not link to or show anything about this “war”. Then you claim G5 enjoyers are being harassed. But it sure looks like this started due to a tweet saying G4 designs were bad and not diverse enough? It’s not harassment to get corrected. In all my time being a Brony since G5 came out, the harassment has been COMPLETELY one sided and it all comes from the G5 fandom. I just hope G5 finally dying while G4 continues to live through the fandom means this ‘war’ finally ends. I’ll bet Pony Life fans also called that a ‘war’ when their show was criticized for low quality too. And now we never hear about it anymore, so I’m happy with the odds that this will be the same outcome… Though I don’t spend my time on Twitter because arguments for the sake of arguments always happen there. You can never get an honest idea of anything from that site. So I am referring to the arguments I see here on this site when I say it’s been entirely caused by G5 fans from what I’ve witnessed. I advice doing the same kind of thing, to see what the conversations are like here rather than on websites designed for drama like Twitter.

Also on the picture itself, you simplified the message so much that it has ended up endorsing a lot of negative behavior. It SHOULD say “Don’t let others tell you what you can and can’t enjoy, if you are causing no harm”. And maybe a reminder that “Your show being criticized does not harm you.”

Edit: just saw the tweet again and yes I can confirm that the TYT one is indeed the viral one. But I’ll be honest. I agree that the TYT style is not exactly everyone’s cup of tea, some do have valid points. But there are those that can go too far with their opinion. This goes for any fanbase.

I try to be unbiased as possible with G5. I want to like it, but there’s hardly anything to like. I wanted G5 to be successful ever since the success of the movie. But MYM felt really shallow on its own. The fact that it’s a sequel series to G4 is one of the main reasons why it’s so hated against, for both valid and invalid reasons. But imma be real, I feel like some fans refuse to listen to actual good criticism of G5. I’ve seen messages like that and it’s weird.

This is why I try to be a middleman about G5, no positive bias nor negative bias.

Sorry to hear that, especially the death threat part. I know this fandom has a problem with G5 but I honestly didn’t expect for things to go that far.

let me recap why this discourse was brought up again:
i made a tweet defending G5 in february and it went viral again 2 days ago. I woke up a day later, opened my DM’s and saw that someone told me to kill myself. I kept getting constant QRT’s on that tweet that were making fun of G5, and it felt like dogpiling. It was constant and it is still happening. I tweeted about what happened to me in DM’s, and other people saw it and brought it to light that the bullying of G5 fans can get that bad.
