Typically, calls for the default hiding of gay tags are due to homophobia. Not in your case–I must emphasise that–but I’d say you’re the exception rather than the rule.
It’s not about being apathetic towards shipping, it’s finding certain sexualities personally reprehensible and wishing to foist that position onto the rest of the community by default.
Now, someone could respond that not hiding them defaults to a position of support which not everyone has. To which I would contend that it’s no different from not hiding the majority of other tags: the vast majority of people don’t have a problem with it.

I don’t like F/F, not out of hate, but none of the ships do anything at all for me (it doesn’t bother me though, I don’t filter the tag); if simply not personally shipping any F/F or M/M pairings out of personal preference rather than hate makes one hompohobic, this is a pitiful disgusting world :I
