Personally I just can’t take sparity seriously as a ship. Spike is practically a baby, and Rarity clearly isn’t interested in him. Most ships are at least semi-plausible because they’re never mentioned in the show. We have no idea whether those characters like each other romantically. With sparity though, it’s pretty clear that it isn’t going anywhere. Also, I don’t like Spike’s character much anyway.

Hmm, I think the SpikexRarity was created more as a thing for Spike’s character than Rarity’s. Either way the degree to which people push it has sort of spoiled it for me. That’s not to say that I never like it or dislike Spike; but I think most people look at them from Spike’s perspective, that is, the person who is infatuated with a person who doesn’t see them the same way and may never. Rather than Rarity’s, which would be having a person romantically interested in you but not really seeing them that way, while also not wanting to hurt their feelings.
 
Plus there’s the assumption that either Rarity would be won over in the end or Spike would be rejected and deeply hurt because of that (even looking at the variations it’s generally one of the two). Spike is still growing up, it could be that he eventually matures and changes his mind but they’re still friends. Or perhaps Rarity does fall in love with somepony else, Spike picks up on this and while he is disappointed he decides that he doesn’t want to make her unhappy by thinking she has to hide her feelings for his sake, so he tells her that he knows she’s in love with another encourages her to go ahead

Just because I can point out all the ways in which you are twisting words to make your argument seem more valid, it doesn’t mean I’m a troll.
 
Also, I object to this idea that the artist has a right to prevent people from using their art to express ideas which they dislike. It would be like a keyboard manufacturer being able to restrict what you typed just because they created the medium.

All of the background ponies commenting on this picture are why I don’t listen to anyone without a proper user name. Also whether they copy or stole the image doesn’t matter the creator said they didn’t want the imaged used in such away that they didn’t intend to. last point of contention public domain, it’s different in every country more or less; lets just go off of the creator has finally say. So in this case the image has been taken without permission and used without consent so it is stolen (or at least I believe it to be).

I think the case with Derpibooru is more like photo bucket than deviant art; with Deviant Art the assumption is generally that you’ve made the image you’re posting, while Photo Bucket is used to show images to people so you the picture you post could be something you made or something you found and wanted to share. And we have tags with artist’s names or sources so we can tell people who made an image when we upload it.
 
 
As for being upset about people using an image you’ve made, I think people get a little too upset (or even out right petty) about it. I can understand being a bit bothered when it happens and calmly asking the person not to do that, perhaps even warning that you will report them if they don’t do it themselves. But some people take it too far.
 
I’ve seen people be furious when they find that an image of their’s was used in a video without permission, jump on a person for re-posting a picture that was done by another person on the same Oekaki Board even though they said in the notes that they were bumping up so-and-so’s picture because they liked it so much and wanted to draw more attention to it, jump on people for re-tracing the pose of a character in a picture and changing it to another character even though they only traced the basic pose and most of the work was their own.
 
I’ve seen cases where people over react so much that a vent image that looked like it was about the artist being bullied was actually about them being upset that the character profile page they had made was being used by people outside the roleplay group they made it for. I’ve even not posted images I made on a Japanese website because I was afraid some ignorant twit would assume I posted another person’s work because they couldn’t read my username on the original website
 
It’s ok to be bothered even when it’s something that isn’t really made for your own gain that somebody tries to claim as their work, but really treating every case that even remotely resembles that as if somebody stole your credit card

Actually, I want to add to this to point out an interesting trend I’ve noticed regarding how the argument of “art theft” is used.
 
In the vast majority of cases you almost never see anyone complain about edits of images or art which is heavily derivative. The only times you see these complaints are when the image is unpopular for other reasons, and these are also the cases where the original artist is most likely to ask for it to be removed. To me it seems very much like copyright is often being used as a means for the fandom to censor unpopular images rather than as a tool to protect creators (from what?).
 
Is this really the intended use for these laws?

And while that “abolishing intellectual stuff” may be true in Europe, I’m in America, and taking things without permission is usually frowned upon here. And yes, I’m aware that Derpi is run from Europe. That doesn’t matter. There are enough non-Europeans on this site to bypass their laws, which can be said of any country for that matter.
 
And given that one of said artists, and in fact the said art, is pro-Sparity, I don’t think he’d like his art used this way.
 
Still don’t agree? Imagine something you created to support something used as fuel against said something. I know I’d be mad.

You have no right to put down another ship. You don’t have to like it, but don’t be so immature about it. Besides, did you get permission from the artist to use this?

Then call it what it is rather than trying to manipulate public opinion by abusing language. If piracy/copying is so terrible, then I’m sure people will acknowledge that without the need for your spin.  
The truth is though, a lot of people don’t see anything wrong with copying. There are a whole host of political parties across Europe who support the idea of reforming or abolishing intellectual property law, and they’ve been quite popular among the younger generation.
 
Now, rather than trying to accuse people of greatly exaggerated crimes, why not wait for the artists themselves to say whether they want to allow this image to stay up?
