Still the art is really good.
I never said that Rainbow Dash would abandon her in her time of need. Don’t get me wrong, I agree that she cares for Scootaloo and she wouldn’t go forever, but I’m stating that ‘IF’ by off chance where if Scootaloo is at her most vulnerable, and she was struck by the final blow, and Dash ‘ISN’T’ around at that time, then things would play out and go from there. I’m not saying it’s neither a guarantee nor a fact in the actual canon, but from how this artist portrays and interprets this scenario in this comic is already a given. So yeah, you have your perspective and I have mine.
Nobody said there was no chance of her achieving her goals. They just said that she has a disorder, which will probably make it harder, but not necessarily impossible.
Rainbow Dash also wouldn’t allow Scootaloo to fall into despair like that. Granted, Rainbow is awful at reading emotions for the most part, but she wouldn’t just up and leave forever if she knew that someone was counting on her like that. She’s too loyal for that.
I’m willing to admit that Scootaloo might be willing to abandon her dreams of flight at this point, or at least find alternate routes to her goals, if she’s let down gently. But her heart would still be broken, and she would have to grow up knowing that nothing she did would ever be good enough to fly with her idol.
If all else fails, then at least Scootaloo had what was probably the best time of her life, spending her days under tutelage from the one she thought was the greatest pegasus of them all. Fond memories have to count for something.
True, but it also comes at a risk of losing hope in life not by experincing false hope alone but achieving despair with no luck of accomplishing her goals. Plus, if Scootaloo is stronger than she looks, she might shrug off her goal and move on. However, if reality somehow manages to crush her enough, she will be at her end in no time (i.e. suicide). Thus, if the one responsible for giving her such confidence isn’t there for her in her greatest needs, then Scootaloo will no doubt end her life and not even her other friends could save her. That’s what I’m getting at.
At least it shows you someone cares enough to help you try, and doesn’t just rip your heart out on the spot.
Well, even if she doesn’t fly, at least she has two great friends and an awesome big sister/idol who all love her. ;)
Even if False Hope slaps you across the face and sending you hurdling back into the pit of despair and loneliness.
False hope is better than none at all, according to Rainbow Dash.
