Doctor: “Okay. I can see the baby now… just one more push, Miss Sweetie Belle and… huh. What the? This is odd.”
Sweetie: “What…” (hggh) “IS… it?”
Doctor: “Your vagina is asking me to enter a DRM code before it can finish installing.”
Buttonmash: “Okay. I got this.” (takes out piece of paper) “Let’s see…”
Sweetie: “… any… (huff) time now!”
Buttonmash: “Okay. Try: zero-four-upper-case-D-lower-case-R, then five-eight-zero-seven, then upper-case-M… actually, is this a zero or an O? Honey, is this a zero or an O?”
Sweetie: “…”
Buttonmash: “Actually, I think this is my Call of Duty CD code…”
Sweetie: “RRRGGGHHHH I’ll KILL YOU ALL!!”
Sweetie: “What are you doing?”
Button: “Waiting for our child”
Sweetie: “The doctor said that our filly “Amazing what technology is these days” is coming tomorrow but since I’m a sister of an element of harmony, Princess Celestia said that we can go at the Hospital in Canterlot”
This joke always bugs me, because it belies a basic misunderstanding of either embryology or computers. In reality, the process is more like a cross between the progression from alpha to beta to gold and compiling code.
You can pay a farmer to do the installation work for you, but you need a specialist to handle getting your userinfo patched in securely, and it’s damned expensive.
@Ertinax
It might not be so bad if the arena co-op weren’t vital to the central workings of the game. Nobody actually plays that mode for fun, enjoying it is considered a sign of dangerous psychopathy.
@Roboshi
Even after 18 years you might end up with a defective product even if you patch it right.
Not to mention that the patches are not for free and a fully patched product will cost you over 100000$ total if not more.
The ever inflating price for the “college experience DLC pack” is the worst. And you just know if you don’t save up for it and install it, you’ll be at a disadvantage in multiplayer and arena co-op.
Those things never got fully loaded even if they arrive in time. There are constant patches that YOU have to install yourself and it can take at least 18 years before you get anything close to the finished product.
