Yeah, funny thing is, I barely ever see those “alicorn OCs” anymore.
 
And yeah, those dresses were kinda cute, surprised they didn’t make ‘em. I guess most of the merch’ isn’t very tied into the show, as some think.
 
I remember CR (sorry to bring him up again) stated every single one of “Meghan McCarthy’s episodes was a toy commercial.” Which I think is rather unfair, ‘cause only 2 of ‘em were. (The Canterlot Wedding, and Crystal Empire 2-parters.) She also wrote eps like “Dragon Shy,” “Party of One,” and “Lesson Zero, which were very beloved episodes, and had no toy tie-ins to them. I don’t see any dragon toys, no insane Pinkie or psycho Twilight toys yet. (Or Fluttershy with bear-pummeling action.)
 
And even then, where are all the Changeling toys back then? Little girls love villains to. So overall, I think it’s unfair of people to write the show off as that. Yes it’s a “toy commercial,” but there’s more to it, then selling toys.

Sure it couldn’t be the utter confusion a baby alicorn would add to the already jumbled mess of what alicorns are in the show’s universe?

I think the reason alicorns have such a bad reputation is because of all those Mary Sue, overpowered alicorn OCs. And the idea that alicorns are omnipotent goddesses, when canon has clearly shown that they aren’t.
 
And you’re right about the toy tie-ins. What I never really got is that there were never any toys featuring the Grand Galloping Gala dresses.

The show pretty much always was a subtle toy-commercial, just a very entertaining one.
 
Also, ironically some fans complain there aren’t official toys of their favorite BG/bit characters.

Yeah, every alicorn seems to get hate, (except Luna) thanks to the fanon misconception that they’re “practically gods.” I wouldn’t mind them adapting Skyla in the series, but it is kinda late for that.
 
Also, it’s kinda good rebuttal next time somebody says the show is “nothing, but a toy commercial,” and every new episode is just to “shill new toys.”  
While that’s kinda true, if that’s the case, then where’s Skyla, and Applejack’s truck in the show? (Actually, I think both should be adapted. :P Hehe)  
Or better yet, why aren’t there any “Power Pony,” and such toys?  
Aside from the possible “Rainbow Power” line being foreshadowed, and the breezies, I haven’t seen any toy tie-ins hardly this season. (It’d be like complaining about the balloon, and train in the first season.)

Maybe they’ll hint about it in the season 4 finale, ending with a bombshell “I’m pregnant” revelation, and the season 5 premiere will introduce the new foal.
 
…Thus splitting the fanbase once again, because even the fans who WANT Shining and Cadance to have foals together don’t want it to be that Princess Skyla character…

I am disappointed. She isn’t expecting a changeling or a demonic shadow abomination.

At this rate, it’s probably not going to happen in season 4. As far as I can tell, Shining Armor is only going to be appearing in the Equestria Games season finale this season.

This is one of the most beautiful pictures I ever seen with Cadence and Shining. These two are my favorite characters from MLP and I hope that they will have a foal in Season 4 or Season 5.

Funny thing is, I’ve always imagined that the Crystal Empire is MORE technologically advanced than the rest of Equestria, because it seems like oftentimes in fiction, ancient civilizations are more advanced than the modern day.
