Yeah, funny thing is, I barely ever see those “alicorn OCs” anymore.
And yeah, those dresses were kinda cute, surprised they didn’t make ‘em. I guess most of the merch’ isn’t very tied into the show, as some think.
I remember CR (sorry to bring him up again) stated every single one of “Meghan McCarthy’s episodes was a toy commercial.” Which I think is rather unfair, ‘cause only 2 of ‘em were. (The Canterlot Wedding, and Crystal Empire 2-parters.) She also wrote eps like “Dragon Shy,” “Party of One,” and “Lesson Zero, which were very beloved episodes, and had no toy tie-ins to them. I don’t see any dragon toys, no insane Pinkie or psycho Twilight toys yet. (Or Fluttershy with bear-pummeling action.)
And even then, where are all the Changeling toys back then? Little girls love villains to. So overall, I think it’s unfair of people to write the show off as that. Yes it’s a “toy commercial,” but there’s more to it, then selling toys.
