Having read the entire thing in one go.. I have to say that “The Usual” is supercute and adorable, despite the subject manner, and that I rather enjoyed the read for the most part. Admittedly, mostly for the cute style, rather than the sex.
With only one chapter left, though, I rather hope it’s more like the first than the third, which outright made me uncomfortable. I mean, the second chapter was problematic, but I didn’t terribly care; the third made me wonder if Rarity had actually snapped or something, between the crazy eyes, blackmail, and beyond-just-for-play sadism.
All of that said, though; still a better handling of rape than “Dragon you Over” was. Not that that’s a high bar to reach, mind, but having read that last week, it’s still close to mind.

I’m just making a joke that the writing is just squiggly lines because she’s writing it with her hoof instead of her magic. Hoof-writing would be terrible… I don’t even understand how she’s grasping that (like how they grasp so many other things in the show).

When you work on a team that has to put out 9.5 hours of animation every year, then you have the right to say whether glossing over small details like that is “lazy”.
No, it sounds smart. Instead of having to create a new language from scratch, or having to spend extra time/effort in editing that one shot that has a view of what’s being written, they have it as it would look had you been looking at a letter from a distance. Cause I don’t know about you, but I can’t read a book from ten feet away.
