and she fought both of the dark regal sisters herself. likely she had an ally but an ally too weak to supply enough aid to hold off two beings who, together, are double her strength.

think of it this way. when have we seen her beaten?
chrysalis, who won only because she consumed enough energy to overpower her.
the Plunder Vines, who had consumed the power of a god tree that was more powerful than either her, luna, and even discord.
in this situation, she was likely double teamed by the dark regal sisters. meaning she fought two beings equal who were as powerful as her individually.
whenever we see her beaten it is because she has faced an immensely powerful foe or obstacle. chrysalis overcharged, the stolen power of a god tree, and her eivl alternate and a dark shadow of her sister.
the fact it takes thse thigns to even BEAT her to begin with shows that she is no slouch.

That kind of cheap pull has been so plowed to death by the staff of both comic and show now that it isn’t even annoying. It’s just boring. Are the writing teams just giving up, or something?

unfortunately not i fear. i thoguht that at first.
however it does leave an intersting, luna filled imlication. let us just say that during the time of these little dimension adventures, she and luna were growing moer, and more distant from one another. likely being so distant from her own sister would ahve an impact on her, and she found love and comfort in another, though one across the veil.
i would bet money that shortly after the adventures stopped the nightmarem oon incident happened.
Haven’t read the comic, but it’d be a nice twist if Celestia kept visiting that universe because that Luna was NOT sent to the moon & seemingly good, except the same time when original-Luna got redeemed, she’d be revealed to be corrupted (opposites).
