I was kinda hoping he’d do something off-the-wall after putting off FiM so long. Some of mist8k’s bits at the end were cool. (The sulfuric acid and sugar reaction was fiendishly clever.)
 
To his credit, the toys really are not that good. Really, they’re not. The gimmicks just don’t look good, and Fluttershy really is laughably off-model.
 
And his reaction to the EqG dolls really is not unlike my initial reaction, especially the “DeviantArt” bit.

I don’t understand why it matters. If he really does dislike the show it shouldn’t change how you feel about it. You’re letting someone else dictate what has value to you at that point.
 
It has value to you, that is what is important.

I, for one, liked the repaints(considering 3/4 of the background ponies are recolors). But seriously, he barely gave the show a chance, and doesn’t give enough of a reason to actually to hate the blind bags aside from being repaints. You can argue that lego minifigures are just repaints of each other.

I am pretty sure he mentioned at one point that he gave the show a chance and it didn’t do anything for him. So if people send him dozens of toys, they pretty much knew what to expect.

(And someone sent him an EQG doll too, so the end result of that is pretty spectactular).
