@TexasUberAlles
it probably was clouse enough, for them.
i mean, if you look at it, they share some features.
like the heart decorated balcony and that little flag
and probably the toy wasnt going to take the “crystal look”, there are alot of possible reasons to why. even they kind of share the shape.
@chaos15
If it is the one I’m thinking of, it goes way beyond the usual “can’t be bothered to make more than three blind bag molds until after Season 3 starts” action, though; there doesn’t appear to be any sort of crystal or tree design elements in that thing. Maybe they just told the production staff “give Twilight her own castle” and forgot to specify “that actually looks like a castle”.
@DemonioBlanco
Is that what that playset in front of the Toyfare Crystal Tree vector was supposed to be? It hadn’t even occurred to me, I thought that was something different entirely; you’d think that if they’re going to have a toy tie-in they’d bother to make the toy and the toon look even a little bit like each other.
@TexasUberAlles
you mean the “princess twilight sparkle friendship rainbow kingdom playset”
yes there is one.
why you think she had a castle kingdom thing now?
@Background Pony #1B3F
It’s still risk-taking. They could have shoehorned these things in and maintained the status quo, but they’ve shown that they’re willing to let the show evolve rather than remain static.
@DanielTepesKraus
This isn’t really taking risks, it’s shoehorning Hasbro’s toys into the show (and poorly). But that’s what My Little Pony is, a toy advertisement. So at least it was vaguely entertaining.
