That was the reason. Apparently they tried adding unicorn horns but everyone involved agreed that it looked too weird/grotesque.

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with no horns, but I do think they should have something to show that they’d have horns as ponies. Like a forehead gem or something.

i am still wondering why they get wings but no unicorn horns…  
they already look deformed as fuck adding a horn won’t ruin them any more…

I can see a “wrong neighborhood” edit coming, and I’m kind of hoping I’m wrong.

So, they were switching it on and off at will for multiple performances during the whole thing.
