Well, there are always the weird ones where you doubt if they’re yours are not. While this one looks like her parents, it’s a bit… too much.

Rainbow Dash and her father are very similar, while The Oranges and The Apples get colors from one another. Also, we haven’t seen AJ’s parents, but Granny Smith’s mother shares her mane colors with Babs and Apple Bloom, and Granny Smith’s eyes with AB.  
Pinkie’s hair is from her excitement. She has naturally straight hair. Also, if you go into paint and select colors from Igneous Rock’s mane, he has purple and pink hair, but it’s dulled to a grey.

Okay, which pony is she getting recessive genes from? And why isn’t she a regular pinto, if she did get these genes from this ancestor?  
This doesn’t excuse blatant color mashing.

In case you haven’t noticed, MLP does not follow the normal rules of genetics. Look at Pinkie’s family who must not have a gene for curly hair except for Pinkie, or the Cakes who are Earth ponies but have a unicorn and pegasus twin, or the Apple family who don’t share a coat or mane color, or Twilight’s family where the only members that resemble each other (Sparkle and Velvet) still have subtle differences to differentiate them, or Diamond Tiara and her father Filthy Rich…
 
It always strikes me as odd that OCs in these fan relationships always seem to share traits of the parents when in MLP’s reality hardly anyone shows any “genetic” similarity to the parents.

There’s a thing called genetics. It’s the reason why we have brown eyes or blonde hair. Neither of them are a pinto, or are related to one closely, so that disaster of a child shouldn’t look like that.

The only problem with that id those are natural looking colors, while this just looks like the artist couldn’t choose between the two colors.

They’ve already had shipping fuel in “Best Night Ever” at the Grand Galloping Gala and during the competitions in “Rainbow Falls”! Why do you even suggest something so logical and perfect that it has to mess up my ship! Blah blah blah blah blah…

But yes, I can see that happening. ‘Tis a little used ship, too, so it’d be interesting to see more of it in fanfic/fanart since it’s different.

I’m really not a fan of shipping personally, but I see nothing especially odd about SoarinJack. If he ever wanted to settle down and have a family, someone like her would be perfect, and she can cook those pies he loves so much.

Armchair psychology doesn’t matter one squat.  
Especially when “Yup” and “Nope” is what one of the character’s is based off of.  
With that being said, going to have to agree with the comment above. Flash and Twi being the most reasonable pairing here, and that’s saying something since it’s so godawful that decent writers anywhere are groaning in pain.
