Actually, it’s hard to say I’m really part of the fandom. I still thoroughly enjoy the show (almost as much as I did when I first started watching; season 4 did great things), the art, and news regarding the show. I still like watching the fandom develop. But I feel more tied to segments of the brony community than I feel tied to anyone who likes the show.
I came into the fandom originally not liking most “geeky” people online. People were mean, selfish and cynical, socially unaware but overconfident in their opinions…
I eventually found that often was still the case among any group in web culture, and I didn’t really “align” myself with any fandom despite loving the show still.
Yep, all fandoms suck, even this one. It used to be cool back then, but now it’s starting to sour a bit. Which is why Hasbro shouldn’t be taking fanservice anymore, unless they’re asking to bring back old characters from a season (Trixie) or movies (Sunset Shimmer, and the Dazzlings)
