Why would they go back to killing eachother after this?
 
What stops them from throwing in the towel and just going home?
 
I mean, I know there’s military discipline and stuff, but it seems the commanders should just get with their troops and march back to their homes. It seems any sort of military discipline would be better than perpetuating what this war was.

From what I’ve heard at least, the Germans are the one’s who started the truce by singing carols and bringing over the candle tree. I find it a nice idea that the Changelings (the German stand-ins) were the initiators here too.

At first, I was surprised by changelings celebrating Hearth’s Warming, but it makes sense. Windigoes are basically their polar opposite. Why wouldn’t they celebrate a holiday about using togetherness and love to defeat such beings?

I just love the fact that as soon as I looked at the thumbnail, I knew exactly what it was depicting (the history behind it etc.), hence I was already touched by it. Plus, I suppose it goes to show how striking the image is.
