I wonder that too. Also, are all cutie marks entirely unique in Equestria? I know everypony has a cutie mark denoting their “special talent”, but surely, there’s only a finite number of such special talents, so that eventually everything has occurred and some must repeat. Maybe?
 
So there could be somepony somewhere in Equestria (or beyond Equestria) with, say, the same cutie-mark as Fluttershy, or Pinkie, or anypony really. And maybe cutie marks do outlast their ponies…they return to the aether, waiting to be claimed by another pony again in the future… xD

I figured more along the lines of stuff the owners didn’t want. I wonder now what would’ve happened to the cutie marks in that inventory screen if they outlasted a pony.

I can imagine the CMC rummaging through it, trying to find the “cool” and “best” ones. Shenanigans (and them being covered in tree sap) ensues. :-)

Dude, if there was a cabinet of loose Cutie Marks that could be used like that, that would be amazing.

What if there were some unclaimed cutie marks left after that ep like:
 
“Who knew there was an ‘Unbearably Ticklish’ cutie mark? Hey Starlight, maybe this can be your special talent!”  
“Put it on her!”  
Starlight: “NO! Nonono NOOOO”

Aww~! xD
