Here’s a thing. I’m not really a diehard shipper myself, and even I got the subtext being tossed around in this scene. It’s actually hardly subtle at all. I’m genuinely curious why people are denying it’s there when it’s… just THERE. It’s like staring at the noon sky and insisting it’s orange.
Best friends don’t touch each other like this unless there is something else going on. It’s clear as day that these two are more than “Best friends” It was just easier from the show’s stand point (and its targeted audience) to say best friends.
@G.S.
Let’s be honest sjw’s got upset about a pastel colored horse talking if they blatantly put a gay couple in the show let alone the same episode where derpy talks again they would be up in arms and saying that this show is trying to corrupt young minds or some bull crap like that so this is how DHX had portray a gay couple very subtle and carefully.
I really do not understand how some people interpret “best friends” as a metaphor for raging lesbians. I really—oh, right, shipping goggles and predisposed beliefs. Never mind. ¯*(ツ)*/¯
To all the people who saying this confirms a ship,you realize this was part of a storm of references for the two. You claim they counted make it official because then they would get sued so you can say “Well it may seem like their not shipping buts every instance of that is only because they can’t and have to squeeze little bits of the truth out.”
well in this episode full of references it obvious that they would reference the significant fandoms headcanon of their shipping as well Bon Bons name and benches.
Here you all are emphasizing BEST FRIENDS so you can say that they are sneaking in a nod for the shipping but I believe it is merely a tool to show the reference as well as all other references.They gave it a wink but as well gave a references to the head-canon that they are roommates as well by it.
I’ll admit it sets them up to possibly advance to lesbians out of their best-friends relationship, but that doesn’t happen as often as some people think.
@G.S.
Honestly if you can’t see the clear indications that these two are more than just
‘friends’ I feel you have missed the clue. Obviously the show producers are not going to take risks coming outright and saying these two are a couple. It’s a lot easier and ambiguous to just say “best friends” and keep the show child friendly without upsetting those who might find this off putting.
Oh if only Hasbro had the balls Nickelodeon had with Korra.
