The problem is that after essentially a one year hiatus they’re throwing in another multi month break when all the Season 5 episodes are done with production. There is no more work to be done on them.
 
Personally I could rationalize a mid season hiatus had they not gone three weeks without an episode airing. However this is just atrocious and unnecessary.

I remember someone saying that the “drama in the comments” tag is misused/misappropriated. I think someone said it on that Lyra/Bon Bon image that was featured a while back. Just putting that out there.

I fail to see the problem.

Then Pinkie Knows might be my Birthday episode.

I think that’s the reason why they’re showing the second half of season 5 in October, to promote the third Equestria Girls movie.

No source, but it’s a pretty plausible guess. On October 13th the third Equestria Girls movie will be out. They probably like to start with the second half of the season right after that. Another thing like I mentioned with my previous comment; last SDCC it was comfirmed there would be another Hearths Warming Eve episode. Pretty logical to have that episode air one week before Christmas right? And since this is episode 21, you could calculate back with the previous airing episodes. In that case you would have episode 14, called Scare-Master (sounds like an Halloween-ish title) airing on October 31 aka. Halloween.

Luckily I don’t hate Equestria Girls. So this hiatus ain’t gonna be much to overcome.
 
Better then the Steven Bombs at least. 1 week of episodes every day, followed by a month of Nothing.
