It’s pretty normal for movie soundtracks to come out before the movies themselves. Even sticking with this, the Rainbow Rocks soundtrack was released on September 10th last year, while the movie premiered in theatres on September 27, more than two weeks later.

Even if it doesn’t appear in the movie it could have its own unreleased short like the three from Rainbow Rocks that are being included on the soundtrack.

You know, I hadn’t thought about it like that — he probably has a bit of a role since he has a pair of dolls (one of which is packages with Sci-Twi)

I’ll wait until the movie is out to see what Flash Sentry does, he could have a bigger role as he has two dolls and there are normally two dolls for characters with big roles like in Rainbow Rocks. His new outfit contains school spirit and Baneposting.

Well, there was a doll of Sunset Shimmer as a giant fire moth of death, and the closest thing we have to that is her as a phoenix visual metaphor in a music video.
 
A Flash Sentry song (with his band, too!) would be very nice, tho.

Much like previous commercials of it’s kind, it’s actually something of a mashup of songs.
 
For example, one of the RR commercials has bits of Under our Spell, Shine Like Rainbows and Rainbow Rocks (+ the Cafeteria Song, apparently!)
 
This one has a bit of Unleash the Magic and CHS Rally.

With the K-Mart exclusive Flash Sentry doll having a new guitar obviously he probably will have a song. In Rainbow Rocks I was hoping to hear a song from him but that didn’t happen. Also the Bad Counter Spell appears in the movie but not in the soundtrack so it could be like that.

The Shadowbolts theme is the one played in the trailer that sounds like something from the Dazzlings. Also Vincent Tong said something about recording three songs earlier.

In fact, I’m hoping that ‘Acadeca’ is another Sunset/Twilight duet, like the end of ‘Welcome to the Show’. Intellectual competition between the two schools’ top students expressed through song.

There is also the fact that Lemon Zest is described as a “drill sargent” — at least to me, that kind of sounds like a leader (or leader-wannabe).
