Not really…I feel as if the characters aside from Fluttershy get a pretty good variation in what their episodes are about - for instance, Rarity’s role in Sweet & Elite was to gain the development that the friends she has are more important the ones she can potentially make, especially when the ones she can potentially make might not be so good to begin with, whereas Canterlot Boutique is mostly about artistic integrity vs. business ethics.
 
RD’s role in Wonderbolts Academy was different than her role in Mare Do Well or May the Best Pet Win, Pinkie’s role in Pinkie Pride was different than her one in Too Many Pinkie Pies, AJ’s role in Applebuck Season was different than her role in Leap of Faith…etc, etc. - Fluttershy is overcoming shyness. Dragonshy was overcoming shyness. Hurricane Fluttershy was overcoming shyness. PYHD was overcoming shyness. Filli Vanilli was overcoming shyness. It can be said her role in Keep Calm and Flutter On was overcoming shyness to tell Discord he was being an ass.
 
Every time she overcomes shyness, nothing changes. Characters have grown - RD is a reserve for the Wonderbolts, Twilight is a princess, Rarity opened up a new store in Canterlot - and Fluttershy hasn’t really changed from the same place as she was when she was introduced.
 
Which confuses me on why you can call RD obnoxious yet not Fluttershy .. I don’t see how being an excited fan is more annoying than being unwilling to contribute to team on multiple occasions without coercion due to one’s own personal desire not to contribute. I’d rather have someone be excited and helpful than someone be quiet and only help when prodded incessantly ..

Still more development then Fluttershy. 5 seasons and still her only traits are being a sniveling doormat or a raging psycho bitch. And at least Dash wants to do something with her life. Fluttershy doesn’t even have a job.

Actually really glad we got a whole lot of Rarity and Rainbow Dash interacting. I don’t think they’ve ever really given much time to flesh out the dynamic between them in any other episode.

I don’t feel that way the same way as them myself, but I highly doubt that this person is “literally” the only person to feel this way after this episode. If this comment section is any indication, people think she was just a tagalong to a Rarity episode if anything - and that isn’t something that’s entirely unfounded.

Honestly, she was fantastic in this episode. Probably the best she’s been in season 5 so far. It was as much hers as it was Rarity’s (who was also fantastic).

3 Rarity episodes in a row is complete nonsense! I’m sick from seeing her >_>

Thing is, this wasn’t a Rarity episode. It was shared between both Rarity and RD.
 
So Rarity stole the scenes from another character in an episode starring both her and that character.

If a character has to steal scenes in their own episode, it just proves they are being overshadowed by someone else. Otherwise were wouldn’t be need for that.

When the focus is on two of the mane six… Well, the comment I have in mind isn’t allowed on images tagged safe. ;D
