Exposing a fake death

Someone I loosely know has been taking advantage of people close to them by using an alternate online personality (as in one person on multiple accounts). They’ve done this for attention and for money. They’ve doen this on multiple platforms - including derpibooru.
 
Long story short I want to use a picture to expose them and want to know if I have the go-ahead or if this’ll be against the rules.

The picture would just be simple text information showing how the death is fake and an image of their OC so the OC tag would apply.
 
I don’t want to put too much in public view just yet because of how much attention this person has right now (I’m not really prepared to deal with a wave of attention person-by-person that would pop up). I can go into detail in private messages though.

I Honestly think, now don’t quote me on this, but i honestly think you should have a sit down with whoever this person is faking their death or whatever and let them know that you know, causing a big stink in the community should really be a last resort.

If you had photos or videos of that person still being alive in the current day and time that would be pretty convincing evidence.

 
If you have proof, don’t show it to people in PM’s, show it here to everyone.
 
 
Until you do that, your claim is fishy with no proof at best.

If you think someone on Derpibooru is faking a death for money or attention, that is a very serious matter. I would recommend reporting them (either their profile or a comment/image where they make that claim) with sufficient evidence for us to evaluate that, and we’ll go from there.
 
As for posting about it - I can’t exactly endorse that because of the drama and controversy that would likely ensure, but I won’t stop you either. All I can say on that matter is that you better have damn good, verifiable, and convincing evidence to make such a claim, as death is a very touchy subject, and if you make a claim that turns out to be incorrect, that will really upset some people.
 
Also if it’s just text, a forum post would probably be better than an image.

Let’s not make public assumptions without evidence, please. It could be coincidental timing, or perhaps you could be right, but I’d rather not go from “someone may be exaggerating their death” to “Oh! Is it <name>?”. This isn’t a guessing game where anybody wins.

i posted something on my tumblr about what i make of these recent allegations regarding ruby. i know at this point i’m just adding fuel to the fire and i don’t want to be part of any witch hunts or harassment campaigns; i just wanted to share some stuff i knew. if it turns out these allegations are false, feel free to delete this post and/or lock this thread and/or slap me with a warning. this has been bothering me for a long time and i wanted to vent my thoughts.

Since OP never clarified but the timing and other factors pointed to this being about the same, consider this thread being about Ruby yes. If OP disagrees he can always PM me and we’ll set something up.

At first I was fired up and planning to do a big “full blast public exposure” about this. As time went on though I kept second guessing things and losing steam.
 
The person, for all I know, might have faked their death for more than attention. Even if it is a faked death for attention after a month we’d never hear about it again if things stayed quiet yet it could be a huge ordeal that split communities if it really were brought to public attention. The evidence - though I find it convincing - is ultimately circumstantial. Add that to the fact that while I feel convinced it was fake there is always that little possibility that the death really was real until they simply pop up and admit it.
 
I grew quiet and planned to let it go by without a word - dropping the plan to make the image or spreading it in general. Then Derpibooru staff poked me due to this thread so I filled them in with the circumstantial evidence I had - her brother being unable to provide an address for where the community could send flowers for her funeral, the lack of an obituary, the lack of any news of a fatal car accident that day, and logs from long ago that heavily implied that she and some others still actively posting and walking around in Second Life are the same person on multiple accounts (which was what initially tipped me off about the death possibly being fake - seeing their suspected alt hanging out at their own memorial on SL).
