It seems like the staff, as I understood it, were looking forward to having one overall community-driven design that would garner so much appeal, that the one design would win the hearts of all and make their way to joining the ranks. I would’ve thought that was a good idea.
But I was told that the inverted version of Downvote that has struck well over a thousand upvotes was more of a promotional and a more original design was desired. Not a bad thing, just means we’re in a pickle.
On one hoof, I see the wisdom and appeal of that but on the other I would hate to see Hide suffer from an eternal stage of anarchy. It looks like a couple designs branched out and grabbed different good concepts, but nothing seemed to stick overall.

| Get together and try collaborating on this; maybe mix-and-match some elements of different designs. |
| If anypony is willing to try going forward on the third option, I have some suggested concepts to think about, some might think Hide should be female like most of the rest. Others might think a stallion is in order. Some would say the design should be simple, also like the rest, but some strongly unique elements could also be wanted for the change of pace. |
| Personally, I really like the idea of a cloak; I almost put one on my design, but some might think that’s too much. I also like the idea that Hide could be blind, blindfolded, or by some other means have impaired sight. I also think a lot of us would entertain the idea of Hide being able to cast magic or use something to create shadows and move around like a rogue or a ninja. |
| Or maybe everypony will think these are stupid ideas and want to start from scratch on something else; like have a filly or something. Or completely ignore and let everypony do their thing. |
