My brony story #KeepGen4Alive

Howdy!
 
I’m not really sure where to put this, so I’m just gonna’ throw it right here. Recently we had the sad news that Season 9 of friendship is magic is the last season we’ll be getting from the current MLPFIM IP. I realize that this was sad news but I also realize it’s better to have it happen now than before the show turns into something like; say SpongeBob where it becomes overly flanderized or forced to settle into a corporately designed box for political correctness.
 
I should state, My name is Micheal, I’m a programmer in learning with experience in 3D animation, Modeling, 2D animation, Art theory, Photography, Cinematography, and Creative writing.
 
I love MLPFiM, I love every character I’ve seen every episode to date and when they premiered with the exception of Season 8(this was because my work schedule changed), I know every show and fan named character. Friendship is magic has been a major part of my life ever since I watched the pilot episodes almost 8 years ago. I made some of my best friends through it and grew closer to others because of it.
 
It’s helped me learn skills(every skill I have I owe to in some part to the pony community and the people who’ve taught me) and do things I probably wouldn’t have been able to do or do as quickly if not for some of the Bronies and fans of the show/community I’ve met. the last 8 years will be a chapter in my life where I will always look back on with fondness and humility cause of all I’ve learned and experience.
 
MLPFiM as a whole will always hold a place in my heart and I foresee it as something I will be sure to pass on to my own children when I have some. With that being said I will always be a Brony and will do everything I can to always give it it’s due as a 3D modeler and artist you can bet I’ll still be producing content based on the G4 ponies even when G5 drops, I’ll watch that, if I like it I’ll rep that too, if not I’ll always be around for G4.
 
What I have to say for everyone whose worried that our community will crumble because of G4 ending, don’t worry about it ending, find ways to support it. If you love it just as much as I do-… you’ll stick around, and as long as there is 1 fan it’ll never truly die.

Gen 4 as a safety net in case Gen 5 falls flat, just know that.

Gen 4 of pony means a ton to me, it’s practically woven into who I am at this point. I never got to travel growing up, but thanks to pony I’ve been all around the country and even to Mexico and Canada for pony-related things. I’ve made lifelong friends all around the world thanks to cons and the fandom, met my now-fiancee thanks to the fandom, been able to volunteer at events and cons to add to a future resume, and learned art among other things. These last 8+ have been just overwhelming and shaped my future and who I am at least socially. I’ll never forget G4 and will keep re-watching the episodes and making/looking up fan content regardless of what G5 brings. I’ve just got to keep in mind that just because the G4 show ends it doesn’t take any of that away besides the waiting for new episodes. It’ll always be alive in my chest. Heart, specifically, but I get so much enjoyment from it that it’s prolly elsewhere in my chest too.

I’m not saying keep it forever and make it stale, I’m saying keep it in our hearts and remember it, that just because it’s ending doesn’t mean that everything up to this point has to go away.
 
#KeepGen4Alive doesn’t mean keep the show running forever, it means keep it’s spirit up by doing good or fun things you do whenever you think about it, whether that’s being an artist, and animator, a 3D modeler, con goer or even someone who just likes re-watching episodes.

Though the show still has SO MUCH unexplored. Details of other species, power struggles between entities like the tree and others… Hell, the far past and future are full of opportunities
 
Whatever happens in S9, I doubt they’ll be able to fully finish the story. We’ll always be left with questions, unless G4 reboots later.

You don’t need to waste your talent and skill on FiM, I get you’ll miss the show and everything but you need to move on to new things who knows you may create a big original animated show by yourself in the future, you can even take inspiration from FiM to create it. Also there’s a reason that the show is ending. Because it had an story and it’s about to end. Nothing lasts forever.

Well obviously, I’m just speaking to those that are afraid of change, I’m already working on my own original IP, with like the 2 cent income I make XD.
 
As I said before I want the people who are afraid that the show ending is going to cause some catastrophic event in there life to know that it isn’t and that if they love it as much as they do it’ll stay alive with them through whatever means they use.

Don’t worry about them, they need to learn that nothing lasts forever. I had seen hundreds of cartoons ending or getting canceled who probably were better than FiM which I miss a lot. But I always keep positive these things and I just wait for a better cartoon to pop out.

I’m pretty sure we will keep G4 alive, Hell im trying to get into art and I’m an engineer by trade. XD

Oh my Celestia! THis so much THiS! That’s what I feel there is just soooo much more to do with G4. It’s only business that gets in the way. :/

It’s just another way of doing business, tbh. If they truly explored all of these different time-periods with different characters in each, it’d be a like a new-character and new-toy machine, giving them plenty of options for monetization.

No worries my dude, the people left are fanatics. We wouldn’t be here for this long if we didn’t obsess over some aspect of MLP FIM. <3 I fore one will continue the pony love well into the future. :)

This show is the reason why I wanted to draw cartoons in my spare time.
 
It was 2013, I remember I spent afternoons watchig MLP fan comics as well as fan material. Watching the show secretly at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. I really love MLP, is part of my identity, I have seasonal interests, but MLP is one of the few that got beyond that and actually caught me up.
