Honestly it makes sense, considering she lived in Cloudsdale, couldn’t fly, and fell off at least once.

This short is simply non canon. No need to over analyze it or make it fit in into lore. Twilight was absolutely fine facing a pony size ladybug when she transformed into a Breezie in their episode. It is imposible to count “Aint Easy Being a Breezy” and this short as canon at the same time as they retcon eachother just like revival of Sombra will contradict IDW comics arc “Siege of Cystal Empire”

I mean Twilight’s brother and Pinkie’s sister just materialised out of nowhere, along with a alicorn freaking princess. And I haven’t seen that hydroelectric power plant outside ponyville recently.
 
I’m sorry if it makes me a bad nerd, but I cannot bring myself to care too much about any of these things honestly.

I like that Twilight trusts Starlight to do something like hypnotism on her at this point. Like, Starlight’s EFFICACY aside, the whole “former brainwashing cult leader” thing didn’t even enter into Twilight’s head.

I just realized what all of yesterday’s complaining over the idea that Twilight trusted Starlight with hypnotism, which is pretty much faulting her for not coming to the same conclusion as those malcontents, reminds me of: Tumblr people who don’t believe in the concept of people changing. The last time Starlight messed up with mind magic was S6. It’s been over 2 years, they’re still holding a grudge over it, and they fault characters who don’t.

If anything, Twilight would be to blame as much as Starlight if anything went wrong.
 
Haven’t seen the short, but from what I know, it’s mainly Pinkie that screws this up.

So after all this time I finally sat down and watched the Season 8 finale. I think it was terrible. They’ve always played fast and loose with magic and artifacts especially during finales but that was just a mess. So many convenient spells and artifacts, so little actually explained, everything just felt rushed with no real point other than to make Cozy a villain and to have the student 6 save the day.
 
There’s no point in even trying to figure out how Cozy was able to write Tirek while imprisoned, why Twilight just so happened to have every magical artifact necessary to destroy equestria, or even where was Discord?
 
Honestly after this I really hope this the last I ever hear of the friendship school. From this finale the entire endeavor was a failure, the vast majority of the students in the school are deranged sheep. All this finale did was hammer in how much of a waste of time trying to teach those idiots were and make me most of Twilight’s students.

Well, for one of those questions, I got the impression that Cozy didn’t need those specific artifacts. Any of sufficient power to act as a magnet would work.

I don’t like the background students, clearly Free thought101 was a lesson they should’ve taught at the school.
 
And the “magic draining spell” is the most bs thing they’ve ever introduced in MLP. So now just getting 6 artifacts together is enough to inert the entire country, with no possible way for anyone to notice it. They’re lucky Cozy was enough of an idiot to put it literately right under their noses where others can find it.

Well, technically it’s 6 really strong magical artifacts combined with a ritual created by a being like Tirek, whos’ entire specialty is stealing magic.
 
That’s a criticism that always felt a bit off to me. Not just ANYONE could do what Cozy did.

She put it under the school, because that’s where the roots of the Tree of Harmony were. It had the most powerful magic in Equestria in it and that combined with the artifacts was how she drained the magic. This was directly explained in the show.

No it wasn’t. All that’s said is the linked artifacts were draining all the magic in Equestria, if anything having it next to the Tree hurt Cozy’s plan since it’s what saved the Student 6. Also, they state the artifacts had the most powerful magic in Equestria, not the tree.

Wait, where is it stated that those artifacts specifically had the most powerful magic in Equestria? I thought they meant that artifacts in general (since it included the EEA medallion) had the most potent magic. Since they were affected last by the drain.

I never liked the background students. The school should’ve been something exclusive to the main 6 students.
