Yep Spike has always been my favorite when I was introduced to the series way back in 2012.
Maybe it’s because he was a dragon or one of the few male characters that were prominently shown at the time that drew my attention to him.
However, I noticed that his character was very much a wildcard in a sense. He’d go from being the the slapstick humorous guy to the reliable sidekick to many other various roles he could fit and that made him very versatile.

Idea for an episode.
Spike gets into a comic book series. He’s mortified when he finds out said series is meant for little fillies, and tries to hide the fact that he likes it.
It could be a metaphor for being a brony.
