Plus the current EG is ending as well due the reboot dolls and the fashion squad dolls killed off the Minis
 
Actually there’s still 4 more animated specials 2 this year and 2 in 2020. Plus we are only at the start of the second of at least three confirmed seasons of digital shorts, so Equestria Girls will still out live FIM by a year or two. Given the dolls just had a “light reboot” in 2017 I doubt we’ll see a hard Equestria Girls reboot till the middle or latter half of the next decade. So…yea.

Middle of the next decade? That’s 6 years from now, don’t you think that’s thinking too far ahead?
 
Probably. I’m just saying it’d be a while before a legit G2 EG started. Best to just enjoy the 2-3 years of specials & shorts we have left.

@Background Pony #0219 I know they developing a G2 version right now cuz think about this if you put in more investment and promotion in G5 that means you put less interest the the current EG not the animation part but in toys and merchandise which they never promoted Later after Rainbow Rocks

If they won’t ever show or mention Sunset Shimmer in FiM, then I wish that at least they’d let her and the EG cast interact with the pony Mane Six during an EG special. But the writers constantly go out of their way to make sure that won’t happen, and I’m betting that Spring Breakdown will do the same (which is especially sad since it’s probably going to be the last “crossover” in G4).

The next special next year should be a graduation theme and portal haywire cuz I’m the Digital Series the girls are still blind by the fact that magic is still leaking by the statue
