Yes, but now they have a studio. In the past they’ve used other studios to create their movies, and now they can retain more of the $ChaChing! and more of the creative control.
Distribution is just staging, networks, and trucks.
Studios is control and ownership and profit.

Oh, heck yes. But from all that I’ve seen I don’t think this was meant to be a cash cow for the company. They had to spin off a whole new division, and this was the movie they chose as the experiment. That it worked at all is a gigantic success - although it’s also completely valid to be disappointed by the numbers.
The first time is almost always more expensive than it seems it should have been. Next time they’ll have a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
And now, Hasbro can own and do Hasbro, instead of licensing things out to other studios (except Paramount, who they’ve already said can retain the license for Transformers).
It’ll be interesting to see where they go next :)
Has anyone heard any rumors of what AllSpark’s next project will be? Seems like they should already be working on something by now.
