Yeah, there were a couple moments in that song that seemed like a homage to the original Sea Ponies song from G1.

Latest book revealed that Caleano and her crew hails from Ornithia.
 
She also referred to her crew as harpies at one point. But it’s ambiguous if she was serious.

Also Netitus was donated to Cloudsdale’s museum. Although he got name dropped as its owner, Flash Magnus himself neither appeared nor was there any indication on where he was.

Here is something about this film that is kinda (almost) familiar to another film.
 
Both TMNT and My Little Pony The Movie, even if nobody gives a shit about it, had Kevin Munroe involved in them as a director in the former and a creative consultant and storyboard artist in the latter. (Much to more bad reviews than good just like TMNT and Ratchet and Clank, which people didn’t LISTEN TO MY DOUBTS ABOUT HOW THIS MOVIE WILL BE RECEIVED. But that’s besides the point)
 
And at the second to third act, the two main characters (Pinkie and Twilight/Raph and Leo) were fighting and arguing (albeit in different situations) and after the arguing and fighting, the latter protagonist got captured by the antagonists leading to the other protagonists to save them.
 
Coincidence, I think not.
