Mirror Magic should’ve been a feature-length special instead of a 22-minute episode, and was hurt really badly by that.

I personally found it too uncomfortable to be funny, since much of the episode is basically spent watching the Mane 6 be psychologically damaged with almost no way out, and that’s not what I want to see when I turn on this show.
 
I might’ve found it hilarious if it wasn’t all we saw, like they threw in a little positivity every so often to offset it all.

Well anyway I honestly feel the movie rekindled my liking if this show. For a while I just couldn’t care less if I missed an episode of something but I think seeing outside Equestria really peeked my interest on what they could do with all the new areas that are unexplored.

Full agreement, especially given the whole point of her arc is her feeling like her life is inherently incomplete with it broken.

i want sunset shimmer to meet better glimmer tempest shadow.

Tempest and Starlight seem to share more in common than Tempest and Sunset.

Yeah, 3.5/5 stars. I’d say that’s very fair for what I watched.

I wonder. By some hypothetical alternate universe, how exactly would this movie (and FiM in general to an extent) be received if it were released in the late 90s?
