@Background Pony #FC80
I agree. To expand on this, it isn’t as if things such as characterization and power level are the most internally consistent things across the show anyways. Whatever they did, some fan was going to be able to find some obscure detail in the show that contradicts it. I’m perfectly fine with them deciding that things work a specific way and then sticking with it if it means the movie gets to be internally consistent.
Various books and comics alluded to seaponies. And Rarity did once dress up as a fish pony for Nightmare Night, which might have been a seapony costume. So I guess so.
But with seapogriffs taking the spotlight I’m not sure if natural seaponies are a thing anymore.
DVD has trailers for other lionsgate films but the blu ray doesn’t.
instead of a music video of a rainbow it’s i’m the friend you need and it’s not easily music video it’s just the song being played over clips from the movie footage of taye diggs recording the song and it’s gets interrupted every now and then.
once again the behind-the-scenes part barely talked about the animation they said what they could do that what they couldn’t do but not a single word about what they did,how and why.
@northern haste
Commentary’s might be difficult, because the production was apparently… difficult. Notice the film’s director doesn’t actually work for Hasbro anymore.
@northern haste
Yeah, the leaks reveal some bad feeling behind the production. Meghan McCarthy at least accused Jayson Thiessen of spending two years making a movie that diverged significantly from the tone and content asked of him, and Hasbro then having to retool the movie significantly over the next year.
I didn’t mind the Storm King not directly appearing much. He may not have directly appeared much, but he still FELT his presence through the entire movie.
Also, he was still very much a threat even if he was a bit goofy at times.
@Jarkes
When I saw the film in a full auditorium, his more threatening qualities seemed more enhanced. Maybe it’s because a bunch of little kids were watching, but still.
I liken his appearance to the Emperor in the original Star Wars trilogy, right down to the lightning and only appearing in a video call until the third act.
You know it’s kind of funny how people thought this movie could of caused the revival of 2D animation in theatres when it is possible that it was movies like this movies based on cartoon shows that caused 2D animated movie to leave theatres in the first place
@Hollowfox the Stallion
and did not a cause 2d Revival.
one of the reasons why 2D films is a rare occurrence in theatres is because of these movies based on TV shows.
after the success of the Rugrats movie other companies wanted to cashin by turning other show into movies and some of them would that attract you will be stated a full theatrical release and it ended up making other 2D movies look like they were just slightly bigger budget TV shows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ED0ySD51Z2U
