Generally people who didn’t want Starlight to stick around or who otherwise thought the ending was a copout.

In all seriousness, I don’t think there’s anything wrong about Starlight moving out, particularly since she’s no longer a student.
 
She doesn’t have to leave Ponyville necessarily, but I no longer feel she’s entitled to live rent-free in a castle, damn it.

how is she no longer a student? she’s learned next to nothing about friendship and still prone to evil and destructive impulses. yeah she helped save equestria, but that really has nothing to do with being a pupil of friendship. i’m sure ilovemyoozik could tell you he wouldn’t get a free college degree for helping save the city.

I kinda disagree that she isn’t learning anything about friendship, and those destructive impulses is what makes her character shine in my eyes. The most she got from that heroic deed was a new civilization and newfound respect, but I agree with you that it doesn’t have anything to do with friendship.

i’m not trashing on her as a character or anything. i’m just saying she’s got a long way to go still before she should be graduated. it’s like twilight is secretly sick of her shit and has written her off.
 
though, it makes about as much sense as the wonderbolts using a history test as their primary screening process for potential members of their squadron that predominantly demands flying ability, physical prowess, and ability to follow flight patterns and orders, or shining armor who clearly has zero leadership capabilities being captain of the guard because he can make shields, so whatevs…

Oh definitely she has a long way to go until she truly understand the idea. It took 3 seasons and 65 episodes for Twilight to earn her title of Princess of Friendship and another season and 26 MORE episodes just for her to understand the importance of her title. I wouldn’t say that Twilight is sick of her, she was just pressured by Discord and Celestia into making her decision.
